Federal gasoline excise

A flat federal excise, unchanged since 1993 and not indexed to inflation: 18.4¢ per gallon (18.3¢ to the Highway Trust Fund plus 0.1¢ for leaking underground storage tanks). It applies in every state; states add their own.
